David (Dave) Stover has more than 30 years of oil and gas industry experience. Before assuming his role as president and chief operating officer (COO) of the company in April 2009, he served as executive vice president and COO since August 2006. Dave served as Noble Energy’s senior vice president of North America for two years and as the company’s vice president of business development from December 2002 to July 2004. Before joining Noble Energy, he was BP’s vice president and business unit leader for the Gulf of Mexico Shelf from September 2000 to August 2002. Employed by Vastar Resources from the time of its formation in 1994, Dave served as area manager for Gulf of Mexico Shelf from April 1999 to September 2000 and as area manager for Oklahoma / Arklatex prior to that time. Earlier in his career, he held a variety of engineering, operations and management positions at ARCO. Active in a number of industry and community organizations, Dave serves on the Board of Junior Achievement in Houston and is a member of the Offshore Energy Center’s Education Committee. He holds a bachelor’s degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and is a member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers.
