Water Resources
Water Resource Directive
Water scarcity and reduced water quality continue to be increasingly critical issues for developed and developing nations. As the global population continues to grow, there will be an increased demand for fresh water and all of society will need to effectively manage water exploitation. As a responsible international energy company dedicated to sustainable growth, Noble Energy recognizes that water is an essential natural resource for ecosystems, communities, and businesses, and we continually evaluate the impact of our water use and discharges to water on the surrounding environments.
We utilize and produce water in our daily operations. Water preservation is essential for our environment to thrive; therefore, we constantly investigate ecologically friendly operation processes that benefit wildlife, landowners, local communities, and our company. We encourage advanced water management practices to enhance the efficiency of water utilization in our operations and preserve fresh water resources.
Noble is currently conducting our first water inventory to account for our direct water footprint. We will publicize this data on our website with the intent to display water usage by season and geographic area. We will utilize this water footprint information to enhance water utilization and to identify water reuse and recycling opportunities in our operations.
Our water resource management strategy is based on a continuous improvement cycle that will allow Noble to constantly collect our water footprint data, evaluate the data, and assess how we can become better stewards of the water resources in our areas of operation.
